ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. (Tuesday August 5, 2014) – The St. Augustine Amphitheatre, in partnership with Southern Roots Apothecary, Small Batch Farms, The Conservatorie, The Present Moment Café, Green Harmony Aromatherapy and Silverfox Leather Shop, proudly present the inaugural “Lost Skills Workshop Series”, commencing on September 23, 2014.
The Lost Skills Workshop Series is a diverse set of community-based workshops that aim to create a hands-on, skill-sharing experience that encourages creativity, community and the growth of local businesses in a unique new gathering space at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.
Ryan Murphy, General Manager of the Cultural Events Division, states “St. Augustine is increasingly becoming a quintessential place that is able to embrace the past, while putting a modern and unique take on it without sacrificing authenticity or quality. I see these workshops as a perfect extension of this philosophy and I am very excited that the staff has come together to create something truly unique and special to offer the immediate community in St. Augustine beyond the standard concerts, musical events and festivals that we work on each year.”
Classes range from $20 to $50 per class and will be held from 6pm to 8pm in the newly renovated Catering Room at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. Classes will go on sale this Friday, August 8 at 10am. All classes must be purchased and registered for at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre Box Office. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged as class size is limited.
Each person attending a class during the “Lost Skills Workshop Series” will be invited, with guest, to attend the “Lost Skills Soiree” on Friday, October 3 to share their experiences over local and hand-crafted food, beverages, live music and more.
