St. Augustine, FL (February 16, 2015) – The St. Augustine Amphitheatre welcomes the Barenaked Ladies “2015 Last Summer on Earth Tour” featuring special guests Violent Femmes and Colin Hay (of Men At Work) on Saturday, July 11, 2015. Barenaked Ladies previously performed at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on November 2, 2013. Tickets go on sale to the general public this Friday, February 20 at 10 a.m.

This summer, Barenaked Ladies will be heading back out on the road for their 2015 Last Summer on Earth Tour. Joined by special guests Violent Femmes and Colin Hay of Men At Work, the Ladies are once again recreating their winning formula with performances in 30+ amphitheaters across the country including their stop at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on July 11. As the Ladies’ vocalist and guitarist Ed Robertson explains, “It’s the Last Summer on Earth... again! It’s not a doomsday prediction; it’s a call to action. We sincerely hope this won’t be the Last Summer on Earth, but just in case, we’re going to ROCK like it is!”

Barenaked Ladies featuring guitarist and vocalist Ed Robertson, bassist and vocalist Jim Creeggan, keyboardist Kevin Hearn and drummer Tyler Steward have sold over 14 million albums worldwide and have won eight Juno awards and earned multiple GRAMMY nominations. Known for such hits as “One Week”, “Pinch Me”, “Brian Wilson”, “If I Had $1,000,000” and many more, the band also penned the theme song for the hit CBS series, “The Big Band Theory”. Their latest album, Grinning Streak, debuted at #10 on the Billboard Top 200. The album’s breakout success showcased the single “Odds Are” which shot to #2 on the iTunes Rock Songs Chart. The Barenaked Ladies’ live shows have become legendary with their hilarious on-stage banter and impromptu raps, leaving fans ever ready to expect the unexpected.

Violent Femmes formed in 1981 as an acoustic punk band playing on the streets of Milwaukee. Their goal was to rock harder than any other acoustic act on the planet. They were rejected for an audition by a local nightclub and set up outside a Pretenders gig. Chrissie Hynde asked them to open that night's show. This gave the early Femmes a publicity boost which led to them being invited to play in NYC supporting Richard Hell. A rave review in the New York Times led eventually to a record deal, which in turn spawned worldwide touring. Their eponymous first album became the first and only album in Billboard history to enter the charts as a platinum album, eight years after its release. The Femmes became a mainstay of festivals, clubs and theatres in over 30 countries worldwide in the ensuing three decades. Violent Femmes are currently touring in commemoration of the 30th anniversary of the release of their first album.

Colin Hay may be best known as the lead singer for Men At Work, the platinum-selling Australian band that topped worldwide charts in the 80s with anthems like “Down Under,” “Overkill,” and “Who Can It Be Now?” Hay’s justifiably proud of his place in pop history, but since moving to Los Angeles in 1989, he’s made 11 solo albums and is confident that his latest album, Gathering Mercury, is the best of the lot.
