Castaway Island Preserve is truly a gem in Jacksonville- If you haven’t heard of it, the preserve is conveniently is located off of San Pablo Road about a half mile north of Beach Boulevard.

Castaway Island is located along the Intracoastal and runs adjacent to a salt marsh and creeks that are home to tons of wildlife. The preserve is over 200 acers and features a huge wooden boardwalk and numerous walking and biking trails. It's pet friendly and the perfect spot for some walks and new smells.

For some of the best views of the water, check out the observation lookouts. If you like to kayak, canoe or paddleboard you’re in luck! There is a floating dock that serves as a launch site and a paddling guide map.

The park is open during daylight hours and at certain times you can explore the 3000 sq ft Education Center. Call (904) 573-2498 for information about the programs available at the Education Center.
