Four tigers and one grey fox now call Catty Shack Ranch their “fur-ever” home. Their new residents came from a private facility in South Florida which had sustained damage during Hurricane Irma.  Combined, the new tigers can eat over 100 pounds in a single day.

The first tiger is Dozer, and he was named appropriately. At just 4 years old, he weighs an estimated 550 pounds. Dozer was born on September 11, 2013. He is still adjusting to his new home and settles in a bit more every day. He is enjoying meeting all of his new caregivers and greets them with warm chuffs. The second tiger, Haley, is 15 months old and all spunk. She is the most talkative of all and loves to egg on her habitat mates! Haley was born on September 13, 2016. The last two tigers are a brother/sister pair, Rocky and Adrian. Although they are not related to Haley, they do share the same habitat and love each other dearly. Rocky and Adrian are 20 months old, born on April 28, 2016. Rocky, Adrian, and Haley have already been dubbed “The Three Amigos” by several of the volunteers.

Piper, the new grey fox, is 2 years old and was originally born in a wildlife rehab center where her mom was being treated. Piper was born blind but does not allow that to impact her. Despite having no vision, she is learning her caregivers and treats them to affectionate licks. She is currently residing in the medical facility to further adjust to her new surroundings and staff. She will find permanent residence in a new habitat built just for her.

Caring for these new residents is costly. Visiting the sanctuary during a public event or sponsoring an animal through our adoption program allows us to care for their residents.
