Bike Social: Springfield Visits Historic Eastside

Join SPAR for a bike social to see our friends in the Historic Eastside neighborhood! We'll be spending our afternoon at the Melanin Market and World of Nations. GTM Research Reserve Beach Cleanup

Join Guana Tolomato Matanzas National Estuarine Research Reserve (GTM) for a beach cleanup on every fourth Saturday of the month. Enjoy coastal views while helping remove debris and microplastics from the beach. GTM Rangers will supply gloves and trash bags at 9 am at the GTM Research Reserve North Beach Lot, 1600 S. Ponte Vedra Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach.

Parks: Castaway Island Preserve

Castaway Island is located along the Intracoastal and runs adjacent to a salt marsh and creeks that are home to tons of wildlife. The preserve is over 200 acers and features a huge wooden boardwalk and numerous walking and biking trails. It's pet friendly and the perfect spot for some walks and new smells. For some of the best views of the water, check out the observation lookouts. If you like to kayak, canoe or paddleboard you’re in luck! There is a floating dock that serves as a launch site and a paddling guide map.

Explore Ravine Gardens State Park in Palatka

Located just over an hour from Jacksonville is a hidden gem in Palatka. Ravine Gardens State Park is one of the nine New Deal-era state parks in Florida.  A 1.8-mile paved road winds around the ravines, offering visitors dramatic views. Numerous picnic sites, equipped with tables and grills, are available to visitors. The Roy E. Campbell Civic Center complex features a large covered pavilion, auditorium and meeting rooms that are available for rent.
