The Mega Event that many people came to on Saturday was the soccer game DC United against Fulham FC. After a great game played came the unveiling of the new scoreboards at Everbank Field. The scoreboards are very unique with a crisp, bright look. After the ceremony, the crowd was ready for the next big show to start at Everbank Field: Carrie Underwood. She has played in Jacksonville many times, but never in Everbank Field. We did have a concert in Everbank Field this year and that was the Florida Country Superfest; and it was awesome to have another concert in the stadium.

She kicked off the show with her hit “Good Girl” and followed up with her song “Wasted” from her first album “Some Hearts”. Carrie Underwood has released four albums in the past 9 years and had a lot of hit singles. One of her newest singles she debuted was the song “Keep Us Safe”. This song was presented at the ACM’s All- Star Salute to the Troops. I believe this is a song that will be on her new album that she will be releasing sometime in the future. The show kept on going as she performed her other hit songs such as “See You Again”, “Last Name”, “Two Black Cadillacs”, “Jesus Take the Wheel”, “All American Girl”, and her rendition of Randy Travis’ hit song “I Told You So”. All of her songs are fantastic, and each of her songs has a story behind it. She ended her concert with her fourth studio titled album song “Blown Away” and her number one song from 2006 “Before He Cheats”.

Overall, Carrie Underwood is always a great performer and she’s come a long way from “American Idol”. This girl is a great entertainer, female vocalist, and gives so much to her fans. Just recently she did a duet called “Somethin’ Bad” with fellow country artist “Miranda Lambert”. If I had one word to sum up her performance it is “Flawless”. She is a great artist from start to finish. I’m hoping she will return to Jacksonville soon after she debuts her next album.
