Ponte Vedra Beach, FL -- (Friday, July 25, 2014) — Fresh off releasing Beautiful Goodbye, his first studio album in 10 years, GRAMMY award-winning singer-songwriter Richard Marx will hit the road this fall for a highly anticipated U.S. tour. The multi-city Whatever We Started tour will kick off October 4 in Ferndale, WA with a stop at the intimate Ponte Vedra Concert Hall on Thursday, October 9. “I’m very excited to tour behind my new album Beautiful Goodbye and play some new songs along with all the hits," says the singer.

Marx’s hits include “Right Here Waiting”, “Satisfied”, “Hold On To The Nights”, “Don’t Mean Nothing” and “Should’ve Known Better”. On July 8, Marx released Beautiful Goodbye to critically acclaimed reviews across the board with Billboard magazine saying, “One word likely describes Beautiful Goodbye best: sexy.” Miami Herald refers to the music on Beautiful Goodbye as “some of [Richard’s] richest yet.” The single, “Whatever We Started”, was released in May following a surprise performance of Richard’s hit song “Right Here Waiting” on the finale of American Idol with host Ryan Seacrest.

In the last few years Marx has also found time to write for other artists, most recently Keith Urban (with whom he scored Urban’s #1 smash “Long Hot Summer”), Jennifer Nettles, Sara Bareilles and the upcoming release by Vince Gill. Across all formats, he has scored an amazing total of 14 #1 singles, both as a performer and a songwriter/producer, making him a true multi-talented threat who continues to challenge himself and his fans.
