The start of a music festival comes from the amount of artists that want to be part of it and the crowds that come and bring it to life. Florida Country Superfest is the first ever country festival to be held in downtown Jacksonville. How could something so awesome and so jam-packed with fans become such a success here in our city?  I went to the start of the biggest festival of country music, none other than CMA Fest 2014 to find out.

The Country Music Association festival itself contains many big acts and many local acts. I’ve seen a lot of songwriters perform at CMA Fest, and we are going to be having some local acts from Jacksonville perform at Florida Country Superfest. This festival has at least 5 stages for the artists, and for Superfest, we are going to start off with 2 stages; a stage for the big acts and a stage for the local acts. One common factor that CMA Fest has and Superfest will have is the amount of people that are willing to stay for the concerts rain or shine. During night 2 of CMA Fest, lightning was spotted during the middle of the second acts’ performance. Unfortunately for Day 3, the area was under a tornado watch and delayed the concert at LP field for an hour. This was not the first time this has happened. Last year when a storm blew through, the artists had to limit their songs to two songs. However, because they are filming the CMA Fest, the show has to go on.  If this happens to us in Jacksonville, we will either be canceling the show or holding it off until the storm passes. Another common thing we have with CMA Fest is the food trucks. At CMA Fest they are really into having food trucks near Bridgestone arena.  Our food trucks in Jacksonville are very popular and hope they will be present at the festival.

If you haven’t heard who is performing at Superfest, these following artists that were at CMA Fest will be attending this year’s Florida Country Superfest:

Saturday Sunday
Colt Ford 5:00pm - 5:20pm Joe Nichols 5:00pm - 5:20pm
Big & Rich 5:35pm - 6:15pm Easton Corbin 5:35pm - 6:15pm
Little Big Town 6:35pm - 7:25pm Florida Georgia Line 6:35pm - 7:25pm
Eric Church 7:55pm - 9:25pm Miranda Lambert 7:55pm - 9:25pm
Jason Aldean 10:00pm - 11:30pm Luke Bryan 10:00pm - 11:30pm

After seeing these artists at CMA Fest 2014, I think Jacksonville is in for a huge surprise. We may be getting a couple of collaborations at the festival, and I know many of the fans will enjoy that. What we will be expecting at the first country festival held in Jacksonville is tailgating, beer, great music and variety, and diehard country fans.

Remember there is still a chance to get tickets to Florida Country Superfest for both days. Hurry and grab them while you can.  You will not be disappointed!
