Philadelphia Union To Face New York Red Bulls At Everbank Field

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., (Jan. 16, 2014) – Philadelphia Union announced today that the soccer club will face 2013 Supporters’ Shield Champion New York Red Bulls Wednesday, Feb. 12 at EverBank Field in Jacksonville, FL, as part of the 2014 pre-season trip. The game will kick off at 6 p.m. Tickets are available now at the Tom Bush Family of Dealerships Box Office at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena, and online at Ticketmaster.com.
“We are excited to play for the second consecutive year at such an excellent venue in the City of Jacksonville,” said Philadelphia Union manager John Hackworth. “New York will be great competition for our squad and we look forward to an entertaining match in front of fans in Jacksonville."
Philadelphia Union and the New York Red Bulls will hold open training sessions Tuesday, Feb. 11. Philadelphia Union will also host a free youth clinic at the open practice, attended by members of Philadelphia Union. Training times and location will be confirmed at a later date.
“The city’s partnership with the Philadelphia Union continues to grow, and we appreciate them choosing Jacksonville for their pre-season training,” said Mayor Alvin Brown. “Jacksonville has a strong history of supporting soccer and we look forward to having a great event.”

Last year, the Union faced Montreal Impact at EverBank Field during its pre-season training. The match will precede the Walt Disney World® Pro Soccer Classic at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, where the Union will compete with Sporting Kansas City, Montreal Impact, Columbus Crew and Orlando City SC, among others.
