JACKSONVILLE, FL. – The 2019 Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp season presented by Community First Credit Union opens at 7:05 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 from the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville. The Jumbo Shrimp will host the Jackson Generals, Double-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks, for a five-game series from April 4 through Sunday, April 8 with a promotional lineup including the following highlights:

Thursday, April 4, 7:05 p.m. (Gate open at 6 p.m.)

Opening Day presented by Firehouse Subs and Rimrock Devlin: The Jumbo Shrimp will host a Street Carnival from 4 p.m. through 6:30 p.m. with a rock wall, game truck, face painter, vendors, DJ and stage and life-size games to help celebrate Opening Day. Also among the pregame festivities is the Navy Band Southeast, which will play the National Anthem. During the Seventh Inning Stretch, Google Street View will take a panorama of the entire ballpark from the pitcher’s mound. The Jumbo Shrimp’s game-used road gray jerseys will be auctioned online at www.jaxshrimp.com throughout the entire homestand. Following the game is the first of a Baseball Grounds-record 22 fireworks shows. The Jumbo Shrimp’s Opening Day is not included in the club’s Budweiser Thirsty Thursday promotion.

Magnet Schedule Giveaway presented by Crawford Electric: The first 5,000 fans receive a 2019 Jumbo Shrimp magnet schedule.

Friday, April 5, 7:05 p.m. (Gates open at 6 p.m.)

NAPA AutoCare Family Fireworks: Fans may visit any participating NAPA AutoCare Center to receive a FREE general admission ticket (reserved seat upgrade available at the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville box office) for the Friday night game. After every Friday home game, the Jumbo Shrimp will light up the sky with NAPA AutoCare Family Fireworks!

Red Shirt Friday: Fans are encouraged to wear red to support the military and save $1 per ticket at the box office, or donate that $1 to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund. The Jumbo Shrimp will wear their red “Bold City” jerseys at every Friday home game this season.

Friday Night Lites spiced up by Tijuana Flats presented by Miller Lite and Coors Light: From 6-7:30 p.m., fans are welcome to enjoy specials for $1 12 oz. Miller Lite and Coors Light, as well as $1 off all craft beer at the Craft Cave near the third-base gate.

Baptist Health Sunday Family FUNday: Kids can feel like the pros before each Sunday home game, as families can play catch on the field, plus Jumbo Shrimp players will be signing autographs. Each Sunday will feature FREE face painting, balloon animals and popular kids show and movie characters roaming the park. “Paw Patrol’s” Chase and Sky will be around on April 7 at the Baseball Grounds and following the game, kids 12 and under can run the bases.

Kids Opening Day: Kids will take over the ballpark on the first Baptist Health Sunday Family FUNday of the season. From a ceremonial first pitch to singing the National Anthem, taking out the lineup card at home plate, guest public address announcing and emceeing and leading the Launch-A-Ball countdown, the Jumbo Shrimp will make sure their first Sunday home game is all about kids.

VyStar Credit Union Charity Begins at Home with Jacksonville Sister Cities Association: The Jumbo Shrimp partner with local nonprofits at each Jumbo Shrimp Monday home game through the season. Jacksonville Sister Cities Association (www.jsca.org) will raise funds through ticket sales and the Launch-A-Ball promotion.
