St. Augustine, FL (March 24, 2014) – Multi-platinum, Grammy nominated recording artist Gavin DeGraw and acclaimed singer-songwriter Matt Nathanson have announced their co-headlining 2014 North American summer tour. They will perform at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Thursday, July 31. Tickets will go on sale to the public on Friday, March 28 at 10AM.
Fans can expect to hear DeGraw perform songs from his acclaimed fourth studio album, MAKE A MOVE, including the hit single “Best I Ever Had” and his latest smash “Make A Move.” The album has garnered rave reviews since its October 15th release with People Magazine describing the album’s first single “Best I Ever Had” as “the kind of switch-up that brings fresh energy…” while Entertainment Weekly raved about DeGraw’s “intricate piano hooks and seductive, gravelly voice.” DeGraw is also scheduled to open a number of dates this summer for legendary performer Billy Joel. Gavin DeGraw is not a stranger to the top of the charts. He first broke through with the 2003 release of his debut album, Chariot, which sold over a million copies, earned platinum certification, and yielded three hit singles: “I Don’t Want To Be,” “Follow Through,” and the title-track, “Chariot.” Gavin’s self-titled second album debuted at No. 1 on the digital sales chart and at No. 7 on Billboard’s Top 200 album chart in 2008, earning Gavin his first Top 10 album. It spawned the hit singles “In Love With A Girl,” which Billboard dubbed “a rocking homerun,” and the gold-certified “We Belong Together.” In 2009, Gavin released Free as a gift to his die-hard fans clamoring for recorded versions of Gavin’s live favorites. DeGraw released his third studio album, Sweeter, in September 2011. The album’s first single, “Not Over You,” co-written with OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder, reached #1 on the Hot AC charts, was a top 10 hit on Top 40, and was certified double platinum.
Matt Nathanson has long been a fan favorite with his vivid songwriting, infectious melodies and dynamic live shows. His latest album LAST OF THE GREAT PRETENDERS has been hailed as the ‘Album of the Week’ by USA Today adding “he has a way of drawing people into his stories.” The album features the song “Heart Starts,” the catchy theme to Lifetime’s Series Celebrity Bucket List – of which Nathanson was recently featured - as well as the hit single “Kinks Shirt which continues to climb on the HAC chart and is also being heard on America’s Top 40 with Ryan Seacrest, The Billy Bush Show and Rick Dee’s Countdown. The video for “Kinks Shirt” which premiered on Rolling Stone.com was directed by actor/comedian Bobcat Goldthwait. Matt Nathanson has evolved into one of the most applauded songwriters and engaging performers on the music scene today. His 2007 album Some Mad Hope yielded his breakthrough multi-platinum hit “Come on Get Higher” as well as the subsequent hits “Car Crash,” “Falling Apart” and “All We Are.” The success of Some Mad Hope earned Nathanson a coveted spot as a VH1 “You Oughta Know” artist, while also resulting in appearances on such national television & radio shows as The Late Show with David Letterman, The Howard Stern Show, Ellen, Conan, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Sixx Sense with Nikki Sixx, Dancing with the Stars, Rachael Ray, Live From Daryl’s House, and The CMA Awards to name a few.
