The Flour & Fig Bakehouse is planning on opening in November and will be a bakery and restaurant located in Historic Springfield at 1715 North Main Street. The storefront will include inside and outside seating, bakery cases full of creative products, an innovative menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner featuring locally sourced ingredients, and a retail area offering locally grown produce. They will also have a coffee bar, local beer, wine, kombucha on tap, and craft cocktails.
Flour and Fig Bakeshop will be run by Allison and Kurt D’Aurizio. Allison has built a loyal following with her artisanal bakery business, My Grandmother’s Pie. Kurt has been working in restaurants for most of his career and has won numerous awards for his work including two AAA four diamond awards. Kurt has also been making and selling pestos, cashew cheese, marinades, and granolas at the Riverside Arts Market and at the Beaches Green Market where you can continue to find our bakery and specialty items.

They changed the business name because they did not it to just be a bakery and are hoping to attract customers from outside of the Springfield area to their storefront. The owners plan to source from local farmers, use minimal plastic, implement solar panels on the roof and use composting and recycling. Their 1,900 square foot space will have approximately 100 indoor and outdoor seats. We look forward to visiting the establishment when it opens.
