Chuy’s, opened last Tuesday at The Strand at Town Center. It’s address is 4914 Town Center Parkway which is across the street from The Markets.

The TexMex restaurant  has eight locations in Florida and has 10 made-from-scratch signature sauces, Big As Yo’ Face Burritos and hand-rolled tortillas.

Chuy's opened on April 16, 1982 in an old, abandoned Texas Barbeque joint on iconic Barton Springs Road in Austin, TX. There was seating for about sixty, a women's restroom the size of a broom closet and a men's restroom that was, well, outside. Founders Mike Young and John Zapp had a vision of a fun and funky Tex-Mex restaurant that served authentic and fresh food in an atmosphere that appealed to everyone. From these humble beginnings Chuy's was born.

Chuy's is known for its authentic, fresh food and fun, eclectic atmosphere. This Town Center location will be its first one in Jacksonville.  Almost everything is made from scratch in the giant kitchen, and the 800-degree comal where fresh tortillas are constantly rolled out. The queso, guacamole and green chile are all great.
