Universal Studios Orlando opened it’s third amazing theme park on Thursday to huge crowds. Named Volcano Bay, it has 18 incredible attractions and is just steps away from Universal Orlando's other world class theme parks.
Volcano Bay is a next generation waterpark thanks to its rides and reservation system. Guests at the park utilize incredible technology that enhances their experience while on the rides and on your feet. When you arrive at the park, guests received waterproof TapuTapu bands that allow them to reserve their rides. These bands are worn while at the park. Designed specifically and exclusively for use in Universal’s water theme park, TapuTapu will make the guest experience throughout the entire park fun-filled and hassle-free.
At the heart of the island stands Krakatau™, the mighty Fire and Water Volcano. Towering 200 feet above the tropical landscape, Krakatau™ streams waterfalls during the day and fiery lava effects at night. Inside the cavernous volcano, the Waturi people dare you to brave a variety of heart-pounding water slides.
The flagship attraction of Volcano Bay, the Krakatau Aqua Coaster has a four-person canoe that launches up and shoots down hills and rockets through the volcano itself in a series of dark twists and turns. For the finale, the coaster plunges through a “shimmering” waterfall.
The 28-acre attraction could be high-profile just for the location alone. The park’s 200-foot volcano has risen just to the north of Interstate 4. The water park is wedged between that and Universal’s Cabana Bay Beach Resort and goes right up to Turkey Lake Road on the west. Guests can follow Universal’s social channels for real-time updates or call 407-817-8317.
