UNF Surf Team takes on another Victory in New Smyrna Beach, Fla.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., Nov. 18, 2013 – This past Sunday, in New Smyrna Beach, the University of North Florida Surf Team attended the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) competition. The UNF surf A team completed their second consecutive 1st Place win with the B Team finishing right behind them in 2nd place.
The top performer for the day was freshman, Patrick Kelly, who placed in the finals in both the Men’s short board division and the long board division, placing in 4th and 2nd place. Along with Kelly were other top performers such as Kayla Durden who finished 1st in the Women's short board, Emily Ruppert who finished in 2nd place in the Women's short board division, Max Mertens who finished in 6th place in the Men's short board division, Brandon Onesky who finished in 5th place in the Men's short board division, and Don Wight who finished in 2nd place in the Men's short board division.
This Friday, November 22nd, at Marineland in St. Augustine, Red Bull is hosting the first collegiate tow-at competition between the UF and UNF surf teams with support from Spy Optic and Flomotion! Two teams of 6 males and 1 female surfers will go head-to-head to see which school can boost the highest and smash the lip the hardest. Be sure to come out and support your favorite school!
