If you haven’t been out much lately, you may not know about the newest Jax Beach Bistro that opened its doors mid June. Tulua Bistro is located on 3rd Street in the spot formerly occupied by Bacon in the Sun. Initially they opened only serving breakfast and lunch, but as of July 20th they will be starting dinner service with a separate dinner menu. 

Immediately upon entering you will notice the colorful murals painted on the walls by local artist, Nico (Instagram @nicosuavalicious). The whole space is light and bright and that vibe is also reflected in the friendliness of Joey the owner and his employees. I visited Tulua Bistro on two occasions and while I liked everything we ordered, here are some of my favorite bites so far: The MLK Fried Pickles- these are not your traditional fried pickles! These are pickle spears dipped in seasoned beer batter, fried and served with house made sriracha ranch dipping sauce.

The Croissant Sandwich- your choice of ham or smoked turkey with swiss and cheddar topped with honey Dijon dressing and served on a warm croissant.

The Strawberry Nutella Dream Belgian Waffles- Dreamy and pretty self explanatory, Belgian waffle topped with fresh strawberries, Nutella and powdered sugar. Perfect for either breakfast or dessert! Also, the sandwiches come with a side- we loved the seasoned house made kettle chips!

Breakfast and lunch is available from 8-3 and dinner from 3-8. They have buy one get one half off mimosas all day and happy hour is 2-5, all alcohol is 1/2 price with the purchase of any entree (to-go alcohol not included). If you like Bloody Mary’s, check out their 64 oz’er filled with 5- 12” skewers of “house goodies”. It looks like a meal in itself!
