River Ruckus Happening at the Riverside Arts Market

St. Johns Riverkeeper and the Riverside Arts Market (RAM) are hosting the fourth annual River Ruckus, a family festival celebrating two of our region’s most important assets — the St. Johns River and RAM. The day’s events will include water based activities, kids crafts and educational programming, live local music, craft beer from Sweet Water Brewing Co, plus all the unique art, produce and food vendors that the Riverside Arts Market offers every Saturday.
Here are details on the days activities:
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Beginner SUP Lessons by All Wet Sports
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Free boat trips from Freedom Boat Club for up to 12 passengers on each trip
10:00 a.m. AND 1:00 p.m. Poke Crawl and Cleanup
With so many people out enjoying the Pokemon Go! craze, we thought it would be fun to host a cleanup where individuals pick up #plastic #litter along the beautiful St. Johns River and catch ALL OF THE POKEMON!
10:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. Casting Clinic: Learn to cast with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC)
This fishing session is open to all ages.
11:00 am – 1:00 pm JU Marine Science 30-min boat trips lead by educators. Limited capacity and age restrictions apply. FCFSregistration.

3:30 p.m. BOTE SUP raffle giveaway

Water Taxi transportation!
The Jacksonville Water Taxi will provide narrated 30-minute tours to and from River Ruckus.
9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. River Ruckus Paddling Flotilla & Paddling Decoration Contest
Black Creek Outfitters and the St. Johns Riverkeeper invites the local paddling community to participate in a 2-mile Paddling Flotilla from Metropolitan Park Dock to the Riverside Arts Market dock to join the River Ruckus festivities. Participants can bring their personal kayaks, canoes or paddle boards to take part in the Paddling Flotilla. Call BCOfor $20 rentals at (904) 645-7003. Participants can also register for the Paddling Decoration Contest. Decorated entries will be judged in the following categories:
1) Most Creative/Clever Kayak or Canoe
2) Most Creative/Clever Paddle Board
3) Go Green Machine – Best Use of Recycled Materials
