Ponte Vedra Concert Hall Celebrates Its Four-Year Anniversary and Unveils Upgrades and Plans for Major Renovations

Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. (February 9, 2015) On Friday, February 13, 2015 the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall will celebrate four years of presenting live entertainment and community events in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The anniversary will be celebrated with an evening of live music and dancing by the Cherry Poppin’ Daddies as they Salute the Music of the Rat Pack. Free celebratory cupcakes and Ponte Vedra Concert Hall stickers will be available to all who attend the performance this Friday. The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is also excited to unveil recent upgrades made possible by the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall. A brand new Kimball baby grand piano was donated by The Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall and is located in the newly renovated piano lounge. Additionally, the Friends of Ponte Vedra Concert Hall provided over $4,000 worth of new furniture and furnishings for artist dressing rooms at the Concert Hall. The Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall is also working towards raising $30,000 for a roadside electronic marquee. Steve Gard, president of the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, said that his group is pleased to be able to contribute to the success of the Concert Hall and that the group plans to announce several fundraising events to be held at the Concert Hall in the near future. More renovations and plans for the addition of a second-story, seated balcony are now being developed. The new addition would add 400 seats to the Concert Hall plus a VIP lounge.

Formerly Cornerstone Baptist Church, the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall opened its doors in February 2011 after more than a year of renovations. The multi-purpose performing arts venue can accommodate a variety of events and transform from a 450-person theatre-style seating arrangement to a 900-person, standing-room only concert hall configuration. Owned and operated by the St. Johns County Cultural Events Division, the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall has welcomed renowned performers such as Art Garfunkel, Ottmar Liebert, Travis Tritt, Ziggy Marley, Ani DeFranco, LeAnn Rimes, Iron & Wine, Goo Goo Dolls and many more in addition to hosting numerous community events, weddings and special occasions. The Ponte Vedra Concert Hall General Manager Ryan Murphy has witnessed the emergence and expansion of the Concert Hall over the years to which he says, “It is remarkable to see how the Concert Hall has grown. As each year has passed, weve continued to be able to bring some really amazing artists to the area. With the help of the Friends of the Ponte Vedra Concert Hall, our incredible volunteers and staff, the Concert Hall has become a must-play venue for artists and a must-go venue for live music enthusiasts seeking an intimate concert experience.”
