Artist Design Description
This design captures the essence of Miramar and the surrounding area. It pays homage to the past with features like the vintage mile marker post, a moss-covered tree that you might expect to see in Granada Park, as well as the orange sun rays behind the city skyline that are reminiscent of the old Jacksonville city logo and flag.
Fun, bold colors represent present day Miramar with flowing waves to represent the river, as well as depictions of the fountains from Colonial Manor Lake Park which are set atop an abstract water design that is composed of overlapping ducks.
A subtle nod to the future of the neighborhood can be found in the arrows, stripes and leaning lines that all push the viewer from left to right, as if to encourage you to look forward to what is coming next. All of this is held together with a limited color palette that includes WDs colors and contributes to the overall fun and playful feel of the design.
