The Jacksonville Farmers Market improvement project has started and is expected to be finished in late June. Wider sidewalks and safety bollards are already in and canopies are now going up on the wholesale line area.

Established in 1938, the market offers Northeast Florida’s largest selection of fresh and healthy foods and is the oldest continuously operated public market in Florida.The Jacksonville Farmers Market is one of the few real working authentic farmers markets in the southeast.

All vendors remain open for business with no effect on shoppers. Areas undergoing improvements are isolated. Some vendors may be temporarily relocated within the market during the next few weeks to insure full separation from construction.The new awnings will allow for shopping in any weather at the Farmers Market, and they will also provide shade for our vendors.

Upwards of 25,000 people a week from the North Florida area, enjoy savings on local, organic and specialty produce and various products including artisan breads and baked goods, stir-fry, seafood, honey, boiled peanuts, garden plants and much more.

You may notice that vendors will have to move to different areas of the market throughout construction, but fortunately, each vendor will be able to remain up and running during all phases of construction. Also, to help keep your shopping experience quick and easy, there won’t be any changes to the flow of traffic in or around the market.

The Jacksonville Farmers Market is located on 1810 West Beaver street approximately 1 mile west of historic downtown Jacksonville. They are just north of the Riverside/Avondale areas and have convenient access from both I-10 and I-95. They are open daily from dawn to dusk except on Thanksgiving and Christmas.
