Hyperion Brewing Company held its grand opening at their new location on Main Street in Historic Springfield last Friday with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The Owner and CEO Alexandra McKeown said they originally looked at Murray Hill and Springfield because they were not served by a brewery and ended up choosing the Springfield area. She said that the company’s business model would focus on being a local community gathering place.
Along with Ms. McKeown at the opening were co-owners and investors Steve & Sheree Schussman, City Councilman Reggie Gaffney and Springfield Preservation and Revitalization Executive Director Christina Parrish-Stone.
Hyperion will be Jacksonville’s first nano-brewery, a brewery making smaller batches of craft beer . She said that the brewery will produce small batches that will allow them to serve a high variety and wanted the customers to dictate what they wanted brewed. Visit them at 1740 Main Street North.
