It’s the story of the American Dream. Meet Gary Park or call him “G”, the guy behind the smoker at G’s Slow Smoked BBQ. Gary started back in 2006 in Clay County off of CR 209 where he sold BBQ on Saturdays out of the back of his truck. His BBQ was a huge hit and would regularly sell out before he could even set up his tables on the corner of CR 209 and CR 220.

In 2009, Gary did his first competition at the VFW in Clay County and took home 2nd place in chicken. At this point in time, Gary still had a full time job and BBQ’ing was still a hobby. In January of 2011, Gary was laid off and had the dream of opening his very own BBQ restaurant. Gary consulted with best friend and neighbor, Andy and they decided to open up shop at 1901 Henley Rd off (CR209) in Middleburg, Fl. In May of 2012, they finally opened their doors.

Since their grand opening, business has been great and the smoker has been smoking non-stop. Since the beginning, their mission has been focused on providing high-quality food, service and customer satisfaction through a unique & southern BBQ Experience. Just a few BBQ items they offer are slow smoked Boston Butt, smoked ribs, beef brisket (Wed, Fri & Sat), BBQ chicken, pulled pork and more.

A testament to their delicious BBQ, Gary has competed in over 50 competitions since 2009 and has won grand championship trophies in multiple states; South Carolina, Florida and Georgia, including The Daniel Foundation Backyard BBQ Championship and Great Southern Tailgate in Fernandina Beach. Gary and his team were also crowned the World Champions at 2014 Battle at BBQ Junction in Edgewater Florida.
