St. Augustine, Fla. (November 24, 2014) Community First Credit Union’s “A December To Remember” featuring several free, family-friendly holiday festivities kicks off this Friday, November 28 and Saturday, November 29 at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre.

This Friday, November 28 at 4pm, the gates to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre will open and families are invited to explore a completely transformed, holiday-themed Amphitheatre. Thousands of lights illuminate the trees and walkways which are decorated with elf houses, holiday characters and a beautiful, towering Holiday Tree. From 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. families can enjoy free train rides, face painting, a bounce house, nightly snowfall and visits with Santa! At 6 p.m., the holiday classic “It’s A Wonderful Life” will be shown on an 18-foot tall movie screen for all to enjoy!

On Saturday, November 29 families are invited back to the St. Augustine Amphitheatre for an Elf Workshop and Holiday Storytime Reading celebration. The Elf Workshop will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the Plaza and features art educators from local elementary schools leading fun holiday art projects including decorating ceramic pins, making ornaments and origami snowflakes and constructing stick puppets! There is no cost for the Elf Workshop and children will have their own unique, festive creations to take home! Teachers leading the Elf Workshop will be Linda McAnarney of Julington Creek, Jamie Wardley of Palencia, Cassandra Lietz of Webster and Rick Greenbough of Crookshank. This very special workshop was made possible by the Friends Of the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. The Holiday Storytime Reading will begin at 6 p.m. in the Catering Room of the Amphitheatre. Led by SJCCA students, families can hear holiday favorites such as “How The Grinch Stole Christmas”, “Twas the Night Before Christmas” and more read aloud. Families are encouraged to bring pillows and blankets. Free train rides, face painting, Santa visits and a nightly snowfall will also be a part of the festivities starting at 4pm.
