Get ready for a day filled of exploring Georgia's most unique barrier island, Jekyll Island! Jekyll Island is just an hour and a half away from Jacksonville, making it the perfect day trip or easy camping trip. Explore Jekyll Island's 10 miles of unspoiled shoreline, 22 miles of bike paths and trails, or dive into its rich history through interactive exhibits and guided trolly tours of the Historic District. You can also experience sea turtle rehabilitation in action at the Georgia Sea Turtle Center, Georgia's only sea turtle education and rehabilitation facility!

We recently camped on the Jekyll Island Campground and had a blast! The campground had bikes available to rent and was steps away from one of Jekyll Island's main bike paths as well as walking distance to Clam Creek and Driftwood Beach. The campground was equipped with electricity, water, clean bathhouses, laundry machines, fire pits, a general store for all your camping needs and more. Plus, it's pet friendly, so your furry friends can come on the adventure too!

Treasure Hunt

Every year, Jekyll Island commissions a group of highly skilled artisans from across the U.S. to create an array of stunning, hand crafted glass globes. If you visit Jekyll Island during January and February, you'll have the chance to find these one-of-a-kind treasures hiding in various locations across the island! The best part is that this treasure hunt is 100% finders keepers, and FREE!
