Its been talked about for years now and finally, plans have been released on what an Aquarium could look like that would be situated in downtown Jacksonville. The aquarium would  find its home in downtown Jacksonville in the vacant Shipyards property and could potentially be the lost key to kick starting the revival of downtown. The property has had many different proposed plans over the past year from a massive tower and ferris wheel to a central park but this may be one of the coolest and most promising concepts yet.

Still lacking the necessary funding, there may be potential investors on the horizon. An advocacy group called Aqua Jax, has stepped up to the plate to raise awareness and assist in the advancement of projects for the city of Jacksonville that will provide greater prosperity, growth, and revenues to benefit all citizens. The groups top priority project is to assist in the placement of a world-class aquarium on the riverfront in downtown Jacksonville.

With the help of the community and investors, all we can do is hope that this project will not be halted.
