July of 2021 was the final week of River City Brewing's 26 year stretch of business on the Southbank. The Restaurant and brewery was a well known gathering spot for great food and beer, events and brunch. Demolition began last week at the 3.5 acre waterfront lot on the Southbank. 

Miami-based developer The Related Group plans to build a 326-unit apartment complex at the site overlooking the St. Johns River and downtown. In addition to apartments, the project will include a restaurant, pool, lounge, recreation space and eight-story parking garage.
