If you’re asking Siri where the nearest Starbucks is for your next caffeine fix, you might be missing out! Don’t get us wrong, we love a good nitro brew or PSL in the fall, but there is also delicious local coffee to be discovered in nearly every corner of the 904. Check out this list of 27 Jacksonville coffee spots, and yes we challenge you to try them all!

1: Round Bird Coffee Shop

Jacksonville Beach just got a South African inspired coffee shop! Round Bird is the perfect place to catch up on work emails, grab a flavorful cup of coffee and a bite to eat, or just a place to hang out and enjoy each other’s company. Round Bird features a full barista station including espresso, lattes, cappuccino, macchiato, kombucha, smoothies, frappe, cold brew, cortado, teas, and more. They also have fresh baked goods including muffins and hand-held pies, which are a South African tradition.

2-4: Bold Bean Coffee Roasters

When Jacksonvillians think of local coffee, Bold Bean is undoubtedly one of the first to come to mind. With locations in Jacksonville Beach, and Riverside,they have a strong presence in the 904, not to mention some of the strongest coffee to further that reputation. Bold Bean sources ethically and roasts coffee beans at their own facility in Murray Hill, where they’re constantly making minor adjustments to create a perfectly balanced and enjoyable cup of coffee. It’s so good that they now have over 140 wholesale partnerships and if you order a coffee or latte at Jacksonville restaurant or bakery, chances are it’s Bold Bean coffee! 

 

4: Sago Coffee

Sago hit the Jacksonville coffee scene in summer of 2019 and it’s been making waves since. The expansive, open air cafe is a creative writer’s happy place. The coffee is absolutely delicious and they also offer a small food menu. We highly recommend the cinnamon vanilla latte, avocado toast, and acai bowl! Every day, groups of people meet here to conversate or set up shop with a laptop and a cup of coffee.

5-7: Southern Grounds

Southern Grounds, also known around here as “SoGro” is more than a coffee shop or restaurant, it’s a community hub. The ever-present cappuccinos, lattes, and cold brews are made from Intelligentsia coffee (artisan direct trade) with a variety of flavor offerings, including the seasonal pumpkin spice. Locals also love their pastries, breakfast, lunch and dinner made with organic, sustainable ingredients. Wine & cheese board pairings are also available for those looking for an evening delight. On Friday & Saturday nights, the Neptune Beach courtyard comes alive with the sounds of live music under the trees. They are also located in San Marco, Avondale, and soon to be JAX Airport!

8: BREW

Right in the heart of Historic 5 Points is the cutest little espresso bar serving all things brewed (coffee and beer). BREW is a place where coffee, cinnamon rolls, and breakfast tacos are life. But really they have a lot more to offer - delicious brunch everyday until 2pm as well as coffee, beer, wine, pastries, and artisan toast available until 7pm.

9: Brass Tacks

Brass Tacks aims to help you “stay sharp” with their locally brewed coffee born in their Green Cove Springs roastery which opened in 2011. The spacious cafe off Southside Blvd that’s a great place to set up shop to work or study all day. If you’re in a hurry, fear not - the drive thru is a quick and easy way to get that caffeine fix! You’re also sure to not leave hungry with their food menu including waffles and biscuit sandwiches as well as “night bites” like buffalo chicken grilled cheese and soft bavarian pretzels. 

10: Delicomb

A short walk away from Jax Beach is a locally-owned cafe serving up “delicomblicious” sips and snacks. All the usual suspects can be found here like chai lattes, fresh coffee, and espresso. If you dare, opt for one of our personal favorites “the speed bomb” which is rightfully named and sure to have you zooming through your to-do list! The all natural and organic from scratch kitchen makes the best Açai bowls, 2-egg sandwiches, super tuna salad, panini melts, and more.

11: Chamblin’s Uptown

Book worms, this one's for you! Chamblin’s Uptown, located off of Laura Street in downtown Jax, serves locally sourced coffee, bagels, pastries, and croissants as well as vegan weekly specials and breakfast all day! It was born out of Chamblin’s bookmine, a large independent bookstore that sells used and new books, along with rare and collectable ones. It’s the perfect place to grab a bite, a brew, and a book to dive into!

12: Sippers Coffee House

Sippers Coffee House offers communal vibes and cups of kindness just a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle of the St. Johns Town Center! Drip coffee, espresso drinks, and italian sodas are complemented by breakfast sandwiches, wraps, and baked goods. The vintage-inspired decor, board games, and books will make you want to stay a while. If you have somewhere to be, take advantage of their convenient drive thru.

13: The Coffee Grinder

Combine 60 types of unique coffee with local art and the vibes of electronic music, and you have The Coffee Grinder! Located on the corner of Baymeadows and Southside Boulevard, this is a place where you can enjoy a beer or glass of wine, and anyone’s java taste can be satisfied. Live DJ’s spin progressive house and trance music on the patio while you explore riveting paintings of Jacksonville artists! 

14: Silver Cow

Located in beautiful historic Murray Hill, Silver Cow features cold brew coffee, vietnamese iced coffee, teas, kombucha, italian cream sodas, craft beer, and boutique wines. Enjoy a beverage while you check out their selection of vintage wares, books, and vinyl. Vegan charcuterie snack plates and nosh offerings are available but feel free to bring your own food in or have it delivered. Looking to host a team building event or workshop? They offer tons of board games as well as free wifi and two large flat screen TV’s that can be used for PowerPoint Presentations. 

15 & 16: Vagabond

Vagabond Coffee started as a vintage camper serving coffee to the Jacksonville community and has grown into a brick-and-mortar coffeehouse in Murray Hill. You can’t go wrong with a latte, cold brew, or pretty much any coffee drink from Vagabond, who also offers pastries, quiches, homemade pop-tarts and more! You can also find their roasted in-house coffee at the ever-so-popular donut spot, Good Dough, and occasionally you’ll find Good Dough’s delicacies at Vagabond!

17: The Flamingo

Coffee in the morning, wine and beer in the evening, yes please! At this trendy coffee bar in Murray Hill, you can enjoy drip coffee, cold brew, espresso, cappuccinos, and lattes - with an optional shot of CBD! There’s no venti or grande here, it’s one size fits all when it comes to serving. Beer, wine, and mimosas are available for those wanting something stronger. But no matter what you’re drinking, be sure to sip pretty for the camera in front of their Instagrammable brick walls adorned with neon flamingo signs. 

18: Social Grounds Coffee Co.

This veteran owned and operated coffee shop in Springfield is more than an adorable spot to grab a cup of specialty roasted coffee - it’s a movement to employ and empower homeless veterans and help the less fortunate. A percentage of each purchase is donated to local nonprofits such as Cup of Love, Rethreaded, and Just For Grins Foundation. They source and roast single origin beans in-house and serve a variety of beverages and baked goods. 

19: Breezy Coffee Shop

Some would consider Breezy a hidden gem, although it’s right off 3rd Street in Jacksonville Beach. They serve up light breakfast and lunch, in addition to delicious coffee drinks, beer and wine. This local spot also does cool things like free coffee when you help clean up the beach!

20: Pura Bean

Pura Bean Coffee Company takes inspiration from the local coffee and lifestyle of Costa Rica. They offer french roasted coffee that brings out each bean’s wonderful flavor, and only source from farms who use sustainable and eco-friendly practices. Their Beach location offers flavorful drip coffee, french press, cold brew, and espresso - the whole nine yards! We also love that they deliver to local retailers in an adorable 1979 Orange VW Bus.

21: Spring Park Cafe

In Historic Green Cove Springs, you’ll find the sister company to Brass Tacks Coffee Co. serving the same delicious french roasted coffee. The cozy chic environment invites all to enjoy a specialty coffee drink and snacks including biscuits, waffles, bagels, and more. The latte selection includes classics and a variety of adventurous options like Oatmeal Cookie, Maple White, Nutty Irishman, and Butter Beer!

22: Twisted Compass Brewing Co.

The owners of Twisted Compass found that the road to craft coffee in Fruit Cove was “twisted” so they decided to partner with Bold Bean Coffee Roasters to bring some of the best locally roasted java to the area. In addition to drinks, they offer a variety of savory and sweet food options from Knead Bakeshop. 

23: Urban Grind

Nestled into a cute little courtyard just across the Main Street Bridge in downtown, Urban Grind Coffee Company has been caffeinating downtown’s workforce since 2010. The shop offers locally roasted coffee and pastries with a dedication to the redevelopment of downtown Jacksonville’s urban core. 

24: Social House Coffee

Social House Coffee is a quality-focused coffee shop in the cozy neighborhood of Avondale. Owned by a former Jaguars player and his wife, the intimate 700-square-foot space aims to be a social hub for locals to enjoy coffee, loose-leaf tea, and pastries.

25: Good Chi Coffee

Good Chi Coffee is born from the idea of creating a comfy space where folks could come together as a community finding good drinks, tasty food, positive vibes, and great company! They serve locally roasted coffee from Brass Tacks, delicious raw, vegan bites provided by Shakti Life Kitchen and fabulous pastries baked fresh at Amaretti's.

26: Lucky Goat Coffee

Lucky Goat Coffee Co. is a new coffee shop in the 904 and it is making us feel very lucky! Specializing in cold brew coffee with seasonal flavors, they offer espresso brewed coffee, non-coffee drinks, pastries and quick bites. They even offer take home gallons of coffee so you can get that tasty kick of caffeine at home.  Located off of Kernan and Beach Blvd. this coffee shop is bright and welcoming for you to come study, work or gather with friends!

 27: Show Pigeon Coffee 

Show Pigeon Coffee is dedicated to kind interactions and good coffee. Show Pigeon Coffee features espresso from Bold Bean Coffee Roasters, milk from Wainwright Dairy, dairy alternatives from Califia Farms, Pacific Foods and Minor Figures, and house made sauces and syrups. Their menu rotates so there is always something new to try.
