99.1’s 99 Days of Summer kicked off Thursday with a free concert by Brett Eldridge and 904 Happy Hour was there to see it. Many people packed the Jacksonville Landing Thursday night and couldn’t wait for the rising country artist to perform. Before Brett came on, Natalie Nicole Green and Clark Hill opened up for him. Natalie Nicole Green sang some great songs, and her performance was really great. Clark Hill also did some great songs including a couple of originals. In case you don’t know, Clark Hill performed at the landing at Mavericks where he opened up for Love and Theft. Both of these opening act performances were acoustic sets which I really liked. It’s actually cool to listen to acoustic sets once in a while.

After the opening acts, Brett Eldridge came out and the crowd went crazy. His stage presence was beyond what I imagined. Since it was an acoustic performance, he didn’t just sit down with his guitar and perform the whole time.  He reached out to the crowd. He enjoys being able to reach for his fans and having fun. Brett Eldridge is known for his two songs “Don’t Ya” and “Beat of the Music”. His two hit songs got the crowd excited and got them singing back to Brett. If you have not heard of or been to one of Brett Eldridge’s shows, he recently opened up for Taylor Swift on her last tour. Not only that, but he had just recently released his first full length album “Bring You Back”. The last time Brett was in Jacksonville was last year at Mavericks where he headlined his first tour.

Overall his show was really enjoyable. Brett Eldridge has a fan base that’s growing. The party continued after the concert at Mavericks where Brett, Natalie and Clark hung out and get a few more photos with the fans. I hope Brett Eldridge comes back to Jacksonville soon.  For starters, this was a good kick off for the 99 Days of Summer, sponsored by WQIK.
