If you’ve never had the experience of picking your own berries, you are missing out! Grab some friends, family, or impress a date at one of these spots. Berries are good on their own, but there are many recipes you can try with your fresh picks. The season runs from mid-April to July, depending on weather. There are plenty of places to check out, be sure to call ahead before heading out!
Blu By U
Where: 5571 Long Branch Rd.
When: late April, Tuesday and Thursday 9-1 and Saturdays 9-6.
Blu by U is a great spot to bring the family. They have a covered picnic area, a petting zoo, a butterfly house and even more things to do for the kids, including a large sandbox, parachute games, and volleyball.
Braddock Blueberries
Where: 4136 Thomas Mill Rd
When: Fridays and Saturdays starting late May
Braddock Blueberries are reservation only. Bug spray is recommended. No pesticides used. There are no restroom facilities. The berries are $4/lbs cash and $4.25/lbs with a credit card.
Dowless Blueberries
When: Open from late May until mid to late June. Wednesdays and Saturdays, 6:00am - 12:00pm

So many choices during our blueberry season! With seven varieties of blueberries to choose from ranging from sweet to tart, there is a variety for everyone to love, even the pickiest of eaters! Blueberry season begins in early April, keep in mind that not all varieties are available all season long.
