Jacksonville Fl - Monday night, more than 100 attended the forum to talk about downtown growth and the role of the Landing. The meeting centered its attention on a plan that could not only revamp the Landing but change downtown life permanently.

The Haskell Co. has been working with Sleiman Enterprises, which owns the Landing, on a redevelopment of the property. There are many options on the table but a majority of the public agrees on one thing - the Landing needs a new spark of energy.

The vision presented by Haskell includes demolishing the north building of the Landing to open the property up to Laura Street and better connect to the urban core, leaving room for future development — likely residential. Some think the Landing needs a main attraction like a ferris wheel to thrive and others believe a facelift will be sufficient.

Cost & start date for the project haven't been discussed yet. Taxs also could rise due to the scale of the project. More information coming soon.
