Rooftop Bars In Jacksonville
Jacksonville has some great restaurants and bars. The most popular restaurants that people talk about all over town are the rooftop bars. Many people come to these spots to enjoy dinner, have a day out with friends during good weather, dinner under the stars or celebrate a special occasion.
Intuition Ale Works
Craft beer fans can follow their intuition to the microbrewery and taproom of Intuition Ale Works, whose rooftop bar overlooks the shores of the St. Johns River and offers spectacular views of Downtown and the Jacksonville Jaguars’ EverBank Field. The casual “shorts and a T-shirt” ambience is complemented by delicious craft beers and outdoor live music and rooftop shows.
The taproom is the home of One Off Wednesdays, where each Wednesday an all-new, limited-release beer is tapped and served for an exclusive one-day run. The brewery hosts a kid-friendly Family Game Night complete with a bounce house, cornhole, and video and board games galore. You don’t want to miss the community yoga classes weekly on the rooftop.

Jaguars sign first-round draft pick Blake Bortles
The Jacksonville Jaguars signed 2014 first-round draft pick Blake Bortles to a contract, the club announced this morning. Bortles was the third overall pick in the draft and is the seventh of the club’s nine draft picks to sign a contract.
Bortles was the third quarterback the Jaguars have drafted in the first round, and the sixth overall and highest drafted in franchise history. The former Central Florida quarterback was the highest drafted player in school history.
“We are excited to get Blake under contract as we finish up minicamp,” Jaguars General Manager David Caldwell said. “Blake has progressed really well this offseason and has brought a great attitude to work each day. He is highly competitive and very passionate about football. He knows where he needs to get better and is willing to do the work. He’s a down to earth guy, a blue collar guy and he just wants to be the best he can be.”
“It’s nice to get the contract done as we head into the final part of minicamp and prepare for training camp,” Bortles said. “I can’t thank Shad Khan, David Caldwell and Gus Bradley enough for the opportunity they have presented me... [Read More]
Jaguars Will Hold Football Practice at Bartram Trail High School
JACKSONVILLE – (via jaguars.com) The Jaguars are taking training camp back to school – and into the community.
And they’re doing it this summer in about as significant a fashion as an NFL team can do it, moving a training camp practice to a local high school.
The Jaguars will hold one 2014 training camp practice – Monday, July 28 at 7 p.m. – at Bartram Trail High School in St. Johns County, Jaguars President Mark Lamping and General Manager David Caldwell announced Wednesday morning.
The practice will be free and open to the public.
“It’s just another sign that the Jaguars want to be fully integrated into the community,” Lamping said Wednesday after the announcement, which took place at the Florida Blue Health and Wellness Practice Fields shortly before the Jaguars’ second practice of 2014 organized team activities.
“Sometimes, you need to take the show on the road.”
St. Johns County Superintendent of Schools Joseph Joyner said the practice will be a huge event for the county. The NFL rebuilt Bartram Trail’s field as part of preparations for the Super Bowl at EverBank Field in February 2005.
“There will be a big crowd,” he sa... [Read More]
Jaguars Get High Marks on Draft Picks
JACKSONVILLE – The grades are pretty much done.
And for the most part, the Jaguars’ draft has received an overwhelmingly positive response from those who grade such things.
Mel Kiper, Jr., of ESPN. Pete Prisco of CBS Sports
Rob Rang of CBSSports.com and NFLDraftScout.com. Bryan Fischer of NFL.com.
Evan Silva of Rotoworld. Sports Illustrated. Peter Schrager of Fox Sports.
All weighed in on the 2014 NFL Draft in recent days, and as it turned out, the Jaguars’ draft carried quite a bit of weight with all of the aforementioned analysts, who one by one ranked the Jaguars’ effort over the three-day draft among the best in the league.
Kiper, one of the most highly-recognized draft analysts, liked the Jaguars adding wide receiversMarqise Lee and Allen Robinson in Round 2, and gave the Jaguars an “A.” Chris Burke and Doug Farrar of SI.com called getting Lee and Robinson in Round 2 “remarkable,” and gave the Jaguars’ overall draft an “A-.”
While some analysts were disagreed over the selection of quarterback Blake Bortles of Central Florida at No. 3 overall, Prisco loved the selection and... [Read More]
FSU QB Jameis Winston cited for shoplifting lobster and crawfish from Publix
Heisman trophy-winning quarterback Jameis Winston was cited for shoplifting $32.72 worth of seafood at a Publix grocery store in Tallahassee, Fla., on Tuesday night, Leon County Director of Law Enforcement Michael Wood said in a news conference Wednesday.
He left with crab legs and crawfish. Before leaving the Publix, he put back the butter he had in his cart but left with the other items. We aren't sure what he was thinking but he is back in the spotlight with now indisputable video evidence.
Wood said Winston left the supermarket at 800 Ocala Road without paying for crab legs and crawfish shortly before 9 p.m., and when police arrived at his residence after midnight Winston said he "forgot" to pay upon being interviewed.
"He was very cooperative and he seemed fairly honest in that he did not pay for the item," Wood said.... [Read More]
