Hurricane Irma Causing College Football Schedule Changes
As Hurricane Irma is tracking its way through the Atlantic Ocean with a projected weekend landfall in Florida, many schools are adjusting their Week 2 college schedules to allow fans and students to prepare for the storm. Some of the changed times and dates are listed below
The Hurricanes' road game at Arkansas State has been canceled with no plans to make up the contest as the teams do not share an off week later in the season. The University of Miami has canceled classes for the rest of the week and Mark Richt has released his players to seek safety from the storm.
The home opener for Florida International against Alcorn State has been postponed indefinitely. School officials are looking into alternate options, but announced the game will not be held on Saturday as scheduled.
The Florida State Seminoles have moved the kickoff time for the Seminoles' home opener against Louisiana- Monroe from 7 p.m. ET to 12:15 p.m. ET on Saturday.
The Central Florida Knights will still play Memphis this weekend, but the game has been moved from Saturday to Friday night at 6:30 p.m. ET.

The Downtown Bellwether Restaurant Will Soon Be Serving Dinner
Bellwether Restaurant opened on April 13 and is located at 100 N. Laura Street in downtown with a an outside patio area and has been serving lunch followed by happy hour. Now, the restaurant is preparing to serve dinner until 9:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, with special hours for downtown evening events.
Once dinner is implemented, the majority of the lunch menu will still be available with some sandwich items being replaced with entrees and shareable appetizers. Some of the items will include a kimchi plate, duck breast, salmon and vegan entrees along with pie and cake desserts. The prices will range from $17 to $25.
Their staff has been tweaking recipes and business flow over the past few months and a lot of emphasis has been placed on to go orders. They have set up the hostess stand with a tablet and card reader to take the to go orders.
They are also saying that in the next few weeks, they will start doing lunch delivery and a weekend brunch.
Florida State Faces Alabama In The Chick Fil A Kickoff Game Saturday Night
On Saturday night, No. 1 Alabama will take the field against No. 3 Florida State for the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Game at the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
It will be the first game at the new state-of-the-art stadium and the field is nearly ready for the highly anticipated contest. The end zones are painted and the finishing touches are being put on ahead of tomorrow’s kickoff
Jalen Hurts returns at quarterback and both Damien Harris and Bo Scarbrough return in the backfield of what should once again be an elite offense to compliment the best defense in the nation. The Crimson Tide ranked seventh in the nation in total yards with 6,829 and averaged 38.8 points per game as well, good for 16th best in the country.
Florida State had a breakout star in redshirt freshman quarterback Deondre Francois last season. Francois showed poise beyond his age with 3,350 passing yards and 20 touchdown passes in 2016 despite playing in a run-heavy offense. The young quarterback should see an uptick in pass attempts this season, but the Seminoles still figure to be an elite rushing team with a strong backfield and offensive line.

Metropolitan Park's First Oktoberfest & Music Festival
The first ever Florida Oktoberfest & Music Festival will hold some of the biggest stars in rock, alternative, and country music, is set for October 6,7, and 8, 2017.
Jacksonville’s Metropolitan Park will play host to three jam-packed days and nights of music and Oktoberfest fun. The festival will feature activities for all ages including a 100 ft ferris wheel, games, and inflatables zone, and arts and crafts vendors. Children under the age of 12 are free to attend.
Festival goers will be able to travel around Germany and purchase a wide variety of German and Oktoberfest style ales. Additionally, 15 of North Florida’s most popular food trucks will create a German inspired dish as well as their most popular menu items.

Ninja Challenge 2 Day Event To Come To Rebounderz Jacksonville
Jacksonville, FL (June 27, 2017) – Beginning Thursday July 27, 2017, Rebounderz Jacksonville will host their second annual Rebounderz Ninja Challenge Competition. The largest of its kind in the area, Rebounderz’s Ninja Warrior Course was designed so everyone could enjoy the attraction, including beginner and advanced level patrons. The Rebounderz Ninja Challenge is open to the public to attend, as well as participate; competing age groups include: 7 and under for the Ninja Fun Run, 8-15 years of age (under 60” tall), 8-15 years of age (60” tall and over), and 16 years of age and older.

The Florida Gators Top TCU To Advance To The College World Series Finals
The Florida Gators pitcher Alex Faedo pitched 7 1/3 scoreless innings and struck out 11 as the Gators beat TCU, 3-0, Saturday night to advance to the College World Series Championship Series for the third time in program history.
Florida (50-19) will face rival LSU for the title after the two schools shared the Southeastern Conference regular-season title this season. Faedo and the Gators shut out TCU (50-18) for the second time this week by matching 3-0 scores. LSU (52-18) earned the championship game by stunning No. 1-ranked Oregon State for the second day in a row, 6-1.
The Gators face Southeastern Conference rival LSU on Monday night in Game 1 of the best-of-three championship series. The Gators won two of three against the Tigers during the regular season March 24-26 at McKethan Stadium. The Gators won the SEC East title, and LSU won the SEC West.
Game 1 is set for 7 p.m. Monday, Game 2 at 8 p.m. Tuesday and a third game at 8 p.m. Wednesday, if necessary.
The Jacksonville Sharks Host The Monterrey Steel In The Playoffs Tonight
The (11-1) Jacksonville Sharks are set to take on the (7-4) Monterrey Steel for the NAL Playoffs in Jacksonville on tonight at 7 p.m.
The Sharks and Steel faced off last week, and the Sharks were given their first loss of the season as they fell to the Steel 44-37. Despite resting quarterback Damien Fleming for the majority of game the Sharks will ahead of the Steel at the half however, the Steel made a late drive before the half to score a field goal making the score 29-21 and the Steel received the ball following the half assisting the Steel come back to take the lead in the third quarter. Despite that, the game was a close battle between teams, the Sharks leading the entire first half before Monterrey made their comeback in the third quarter. The Sharks made multiple attempts to retake the lead closing in with a score of 44-37, but turnovers proved to be too costly as the Sharks rallied on their final drive, reaching the redzone but a fumble ended the drive and the Steel ran out the clock to give the Sharks their first loss of the season.

Seminoles And Gators Are Headed Back To The College World Series
The final leg of the 2017 Division I baseball tournament kicks off June 17 and runs through June 27/28. The eight teams participating in this year's CWS are Oregon State, Texas A&M, Cal State Fullerton, Louisville, Florida State, TCU, LSU, and Florida.
The eight teams will be playing a double-elimination format to determine who gets to claim the title as national champions. The finals, a best-of-three series, is scheduled for June 26-27/28.
The Seminoles punched their ticket to college baseball’s championship series in Omaha, Neb., with an emphatic 19-0 win over Sam Houston State late Monday night, clinching the program’s first trip to the CWS since 2012.
Also on Monday night, the Gators posted a 3-0 victory over Wake Forest in front of 3,381 at McKethan Stadium, sending UF to the College World Series for the sixth time under coach Kevin O’Sullivan.
The pairings and game times for the first two days of the Men’s College World Series have been announced. The 71st MCWS will take place at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska, from June 17-27/28.

Champions For Hope Celebrity Golf Tournament This Weekend At The TPC Sawgrass
The Funk-Zitiello Foundation, formed by professional golfer Fred Funk and his wife Sharon and Tommy and Judi Zitiello, will have the Champions for Hope Celebrity Golf Classic Friday and Saturday at TPC Sawgrass. The inaugural Champions for Hope golf tournament will benefit the JT Townsend Foundation and pancreatic research with the Mayo Clinic.
The JT Townsend Foundation (JTTF) was established in 2008 with a mission to help children and adults living with disabilities on the First Coast with financial assistance and adaptive equipment often denied by insurance and to fund spinal cord injury research. To date, JTTF has helped over 250 families with $500,000 given in assistance and equipment.
Judi Zitiello was the Townsend Foundation’s first executive director and led it through Townsend’s death in 2013. She is now the board chairwoman of the Townsend Foundation and the Funk-Zitiello foundation’s managing director. She credits Mayo for her surviving pancreatic cancer and has become an advocate to ensure others live through it as well.

New Bowling Alley Coming To The 904
The 904 has exciting venues coming in the future. After the opening of Daily’s Place this Memorial Day weekend, the city of Jacksonville may soon have a boutique bowling alley and restaurant complex, modeled after Nashville’s Pinewood Social.
The new entertainment destination could feature a six lane, vintage bowling alley complete with period-specific ball returns and scoring tables plus a main dining room with dining booths and tables centered around a copper-topped bar.
Additionally, the complex would house a restaurant which will serve a full lunch and dinner menu accompanied by an exquisite cocktail program. At the venue’s entrance, a coffee shop would flanked by sectional couches, long tables and an ample amount of power plugs for laptops. The most well-known tubing spot in Florida. It marks the summer tubing season here when visitors are allowed to launch from the north end. One Spark Returning To Jacksonville
The One Spark event in Jacksonville will have a new home in 2017 thanks to a partnership with Bold Events, the entertainment arm of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
The two-day event that showcases creators, innovators, entrepreneurs and social and cultural projects will take place Oct. 6-7 at the newly opened Daily's Place and EverBank Field's West U.S. Assure Club.
Spark Tank, sponsored by One Spark Ventures, returns and will feature several rounds with $5,000 prizes,.The championship competition will award a $20,000 prize. Each zone will have creators selected by a panel of judges to participate in a Spark Tank round for a chance at a $5,000 award. There will be 5 different zones for the creators to qualify in.
Helping to offset the costs associated with putting on the event, Festival attendees will be required to register and purchase a ticket this year: $5 in advance and $10 on the day of the event.
One Spark will begin the night of Oct. 5 with a concert, which will require the purchase of another ticket. The act for the concert has not been announced yet.

Dream Day, hosted by Dreams Come True charity and PRI Productions, is a celebration for Northeast Florida children who are battling life-threatening illnesses. It’s truly a magical event where the children can let loose and have some fun.
The purpose of Dream Day is to provide an unforgettable day for local children and families in need of a break from their day-to-day struggles with life-threatening illnesses. The celebration is part of Dreams Come True’s Special Times program, which provides the dream child and his or her family opportunities to enjoy special activities they may not otherwise get to experience. They may get tickets to a Jaguars game, an evening at the movies, a concert or a festival to spend a day at. Whatever the opportunity, Special Times reminds the children and their families they are special and loved.

Apple unveiled its most powerful Mac yet, a long-awaited Siri speaker, and tons of new software upgrades across all of the Apple platforms, from your iPhone to your Apple Watch.
The all-new iMac Pro packs monster power into the same super sleek design that makes Apple products so covetable. It comes with processors up to 22 teraflops, memory up to 128 gigs, and as much as 4 terabytes of storage.
Apple is now battling with Amazon and Google for control of your living room. The company unveiled the HomePod, a speaker with Siri built-in that will start selling in December. Apple is promoting the HomePod as a cross between a dedicated home assistant and a high-end speaker, saying it can adjust its audio output depending on the size of the room it's in. Users will be able to control the HomePod with their voice, asking Siri to check the weather, provide traffic updates, control smart home devices, and send text messages.

Cocaine Bundles Found In St. Augustine Beach
St. Augustine Beach FL - Tuesday night, 16 kilos of cocaine washed up on several St. Johns County beaches. The St. Augustine Beach police got a call that two small packages washed up near the A Street beach access.
A third package was found a short time later near Sea Colony. After more searching, even more packages turned up. Officials said the value of the drugs could be up to $600,000.
