Transportation Solution from Jax Beach to Downtown - Jax Connector

Jacksonville needs your help to bring The Connector to life. Help to connect the community through this no-risk funding campaign!

    Q: What is The Connector?

This is simple. Together we can provide an easy, reliable, fast and affordable transportation solution to connect two thriving areas in Jacksonville. The Connector will provide private buses to both Downtown and the Beaches. Two luxury buses will run on a continuous schedule leaving each location, every hour on the hour, from 7 pm to 2 am Friday and Saturday nights with room for expansion. You'll be able to make reservations in advance through Jax Connector or by walking up. The cost will be $5 one-way and $8 round-trip payable via cash or charge. The ride will be a straight shot from point A to point B and trip duration is approximately a 30 minute ride.

Q: I love Jacksonville, but will this work? And why do you need $100K?

Private transportation systems are proven all over the world. This is our opportunity to step up when resources have not been provided at the growth rate of our community. That in mind, there are key barriers to implementation: cost and adoption.

Cost. We're hoping you can help on...   [Read More]

THE PLAYERS Championship announces record $7.1 million generated for local charities from 2013 tournament

Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. (November 14, 2013) – At a celebration tonight honoring the volunteer leadership of THE PLAYERS Championship, PGA TOUR Commissioner Tim Finchem announced that $7.1 million was generated for local charities from the 2013 tournament, eclipsing last year’s record-breaking total of $6.5 million. The money generated by THE PLAYERS each year benefits more than 300 charities throughout Northeast Florida, totaling nearly $60 million in charitable giving since the event moved to Ponte Vedra Beach in 1977. The substantial increases over the past few years is attributed to a growing, dedicated fan base, support from PwC – the event’s Proud Partner, the tireless and selfless efforts of the tournament’s volunteer force and the entire Northeast Florida community.

The announcement was made during THE PLAYERS Volunteer Leadership Appreciation Party hosted by Commissioner Finchem on the Presentation Lawn of the TPC Sawgrass Clubhouse.  The event is part of a series of activities during THE PLAYERS 2013 Giving Back Month designed to highlight the work of the many charitable organizations in Northeast Florida that benefit from the tournament. Guests at tonight’s Volunteer Leadership Appreciation Party cheered a...   [Read More]

    Jacksonville Fair Entertainment Recap

The Jacksonville Agricultural Fair began on Wednesday and started off with Craig Morgan performing on Thursday, and on Friday the Fall Free Gator Country concert series. Craig Morgan has performed recently at the Jacksonville Landing in July and has always put on a great show. A source says that Craig Morgan performed amazing on Thursday Night and brought in a big crowd for the fair’s concert series kick off. He is known for his favorite songs, “International Harvester”, “I Got You”, and his newest song “Waking Up Lovin You”.

The next night the concert series continued on with the newest duo in country music “American Young”. This country duo is led by Jon Stone and Kristy Osmunson. They’re recent single “Love Is War” is played quite often on 99.9 Gator Country. I actually like this song for its soft sound and meaningful lyrics. The girl in the band Kristy Osmunson started out in a duo called Bomshel that began in 2006. Their songs that were hits were “Fight Like a Girl”, “19 and Crazy”, and “Power of One”. After her first band she had joined forces with Jon Stone and helped his form American Young. I think this new duo has a lot of potent...   [Read More]
